On the way out the door to get Jerry I remembered I needed a book. I quickly went to the shelf to grab something and I automatically went to the Elizabeth Zimmermann section (yes, section). I’m not sure why I grabbed both of these because they are, after all, the same book. The green one I’ve had for ages and it is very comfortable and worn. The red one has pretty pictures in color so I guess they’re not really the same. Only most of the words are the same.
Like I always do when I pick up this book I read the first page. I could read that page over and over. It’s a knitting book, no doubt, but it’s not just about knitting. I was so happy as I read it that I almost wept. I love this book. After quickly reading January: An Aran Sweater (the first chapter) I flipped to June: Borders. Small Stuff for Summer Knitting; Three Hats. In particular I wanted to read about the Ganomy (Gnome to You) Hat. I knit one years ago that I just recently gave away and I was thinking it might be time to knit another. Once we arrived home I could not get started soon enough. Yarn and needles gathered, mini swatch knit, I cast on and knit for a bit just before dinner.
Soon, I will have a hat.
